This little guy is Luke Benjamin! He has been at Morning Star Project Beijing Home since he was very little. He was born with a serious heart defect. It is a miracle that he is alive! More on his story later!
He is 2.5 yrs old now! He will be our youngest!
We are still in process with this little sweeties name but we are thinking it will be Mia Elizabeth. She falls right between Ava and Anna age wise and yes an "A" name would be great but I have always loved the name Mia so we are thinking about mixing it up a bit with an "M" name! Feel free to give us ideas but there is a good chance we will stay with Mia????
Mia has a blood disorder. It is a type of anemia that leads to Leukemia. The Drs here feel like it is a wrong diagnosis because it is unlikely for a young asian girl to have this blood disorder. They have no clue what it is or what it could be without doing more tests. She is transfused every 4 weeks.
We have learned to take seriously the information we get from Ch*na. Sometimes they have been wrong but often they are right. With some of our other adoptions we have chosen not to believe what we have read about a child, now we realize that they actually do know what they are talking about.
The Drs here have already mentioned a bone marrow transplant. We will do what needs to be done. Yes, it does scare me... when I start feeling nervous about it I pray and pray. Thank goodness the Lord comforts me and calms my nervousness. In Ch*na she does not stand a chance. An orphan does not get a bone marrow transplant but in America she can get what she needs!
I have a request- I was wondering if someone out there can make us a button for our two newest family members to be- Mia and Luke. These two need to be covered in prayers- they need Gods protection and healing. I was thinking if we had a button than maybe others would put it on their blog and it serve as a little reminder to pray for them!
