One man's trash, another man's treasure.

So I always vowed I would never do the 'verge side pick up dash'...gulp... I did it!

I was taking Boyd up to cricket training and visiting my dad while he trained... Its up in Perth hills. Noticing it must be verge side pick up time cause there were mountains of rubbish on the side of the roads...
Then I saw it...two old jarrah wooden crates...loved them but kept driving...then got to my dads street and saw 2 cane chairs...love them too!...You always ask yourself why people throw away such beautiful things...
Visited dad, then on the way back down to pick up Boyd I did the verge side dash! :) haha... You know that thrill of jumping out of your car as quick as possible, grabbing the so called 'rubbish' and putting it the car as quickly as possible hoping no one has seen you!! You know that feeling if you have done it!!... I was one happy camper!

I got home to see what condition they were in...no I didn't even give myself time to do that on the side of the road! Here is what I scored!

Love the round curves in the arms of the cane chairs!

Now what to do with them...they need a home!

I have two wooden crates in Luke's Rooms for his own little book shelf, so it only seems fair that the new baby has his own crate bookshelf too...

And one chair for the 'guest room'... mum is coming to stay on Friday...perfect timing!

And the other chair, Im going to put outside...more on that later ;)

The best thing about my dash for the 'verge side pick up' is...that its free! So if it breaks or I get tired of it... back to the verge it goes!

Have you ever done 'the verge side dash'? What did you score?
