Night out with the Girls!

On Saturday two of my best friends came down from Geraldton to have a well deserved girls night out.
We were all so excited...knowing nothing could ruin our night....and nothing did...but oh how interesting it was!!
Boyd had bought me 4 tickets to the theatre to see 'The Sound of Music'. This movie was one I have watched over 50 times (that's not exaggerating). As a child I have fond memories of sitting in my grandparents home watching this movie over and over with my cousins all spread out on the floor. So asking Mum and Jodie (cousin) to share this special night seemed only perfect!... I also asked my gorgeous friend Kristie... another 'Sound of Music' fan!

It was at the Regal Theatre in Subiaco, so we decided we would dress up, go out for dinner before hand and make a real night of it! We were recommended a restaurant 'Oriel Cafe' ...ho hum, I wont say who but I know your reading this :) Yes, I still love ya!
I'm not one to really speak badly about restaurants, but this just topped them all...

We went though every emotion just at dinner...
- Excitement that we arrived at 5:50pm and being the second table to arrive...
- Happy to be together...
- Curious to why other tables were receiving water and we we not...
- Trust in our conversation with each other...
- Concern that after half and hour, we still had not been served water or been asked for drinks or had our order taken
- Mad...that after calling a waiter over to ask for drinks it took him another 20 minutes to bring them to us...
- Surprised they sent us a waiter to take our order who COULD NOT speak English...we had to point out our meal on the menu so he could write it down....he said 'yes yes yes' to everything! We could of asked if the world was about to explode and he would have said 'yes yes yes'...???
- Disgust that after 30 minutes after taking our order, we had not received our dipping platter to share for entrée...(hour and 10mins after arriving and only 25 minutes before having to leave).. Mum had to ask for it!
- Anticipation to see if our meals would be yummy...and if we would receive them in time.
- Angry to watch the table next to us come in and sit down 20 minutes after we arrived, receive water and drinks immediately, get meals ordered, enjoy their meal, pay and walk out all with in and hour of being there!
- Sympathetic to the other 3 tables around us...who had only received water and taken orders but had arrived before and with us!
- Entertained by others complaining too...
- Sad that when 2 of our meals arrived at 7:15 they were wrong! Yes...not even the meals that were written on the menu...I asked for it to be cooked Well Done but the meat was raw (hello, Im pregnant...I cant eat raw meat!)...It said wrapped in panchetta, but no panchetta....said it came with a side salad....no salad... I asked for the red wine jus... it came with mushroom and peppercorn sauce....
- Patiently waited for the other 2 meals....they just didnt arrive...by 7:25 we had to leave!
- Happy to see other tables walk out in disgust at the service they received...and one table get served their entrées twice!!

So we went to pay for our drinks... Manager wanted to charge us for our meals, was extremely rude, didn't want to listen or understand, never apologized!...I was shocked... especially because I had explained we were going to the theatre at 7:30 and asked if that would be enough time to eat when I rang and booked!!! 2 couples lined up behind us to pay. One man stepped in saying he would leave without paying if she didn't let us go for free! (He had received his meal but said he was never coming back)

JOY... it was soooo bad, that it really just became funny!! It was beyond a joke.... I wonder if they even made any money that night, with the amount of people who walked out...

The night could only get better! ... and it did!
The theatre was AMAZING! Sets were beautiful! Singing was gorgeous!! A real treat!!
It was a interesting and entertaining night that's for sure!!!

Thanks for sharing it with me Mum, Jodie and Kristie! Love you all heaps! xo
