Ontrays...

Today is food shopping day. Not one of those jobs I love, however its always nice once you have done it, you open up the pantry and have a variety of food to pick from!

When you get home with all the shopping... its the perfect time to throw out the food that you wont be eating (old leftovers, withered veggies, rotten fruit)  from the fridge and pantry and give them (the pantry and fridge) both a quick wipe over!
It gives you a fresh start with fresh food! Keep it organized and you will always know what you have, without doubling up or forgetting to put anything on the shopping list!

I don't like to rush my food shop so I need to be organized with Luke. I bought a 'ontray' which is a plastic container that clips on to the trolley handle and holds a yummy morning or afternoon tea!
Its so rewarding packing your child a healthy snack, and knowing they are being well nourished. Try not to get in the habit of buying sugary and fatty foods on the run, and then washing in down with a 'juice'. Don't get me wrong, I defiantly do it every now and then, but its a trap you can fall into that isn't the best for our kids, and can quickly burn a hole in your wallet!

Some great snack ideas:
- Cut up fruit (watermelon, apples, pears etc)
- Cut up vegies (carrot, cucumber)
- Sultanas
- Cheese
- Roll up ham
- Yoghurt balls/drops
- Dried fruit sticks (quite sugary)

Here is a pick of the 'ontray'
You can buy them from 'Chatter Box Co' Check them out on-line or on facebook! Might be a good little investment!

Happy Shopping :)
