Its a new year and time for a fresh start...so I have decide to go through each room and do some 'redecorating'... which includes, moving the room around, going through everything... throwing out or selling things that we don't need or haven't used, out grown or are now to big...bringing in some 'new touches' either new or from other rooms within the house, giving everything a good clean and having everything organized!
I started with my bedroom. My bedroom is my sanctuary, its my space, I love being in here...but over the last 2 months, piles of clothes have been forming, lamps have been broken...its just gotten a bit sloppy... and when I saw the latest Target Catalogue that had 20-40% off 'white'...I decided it was time to do some shopping...
White... I love the colour! (Its actually not a colour but I wont go into that now, its a tone) ...but anyhow is screams clean, fresh, stands for purity and I just like it!... To go with it, I like any natural colour... beige, browns and greens...
Lets step back and see what my bedroom looked like yesterday morning...
(I cant believe I'm going to show you it, it such a bad state!!!)
Notice: -The broken lamp next to the bedside table (thanks to Luke) -The collections of pictures in frames leaned up againest the wall - Junk on the bedside table :/ |
Notice: - The drawers aren't even centred - The pile of clothes on the chest of draws - Boyd school backpack on the ground - Shopping bag |
Notice: - Large cushions coving up my beautiful chair - Ben's cradles turning into a clothes hanger :/ |
And today it looks like this...
(wish I had a better camera because it looks better in real life than in the photo's)

French Chair from Orielle in South Perth |
Lamp Shades - Target Cushions - Target Lamp Base - Engagement Present |
Were in a rental so I cant hang the photo but it sits nicely just on our chest of draws... Dream sign - Bed, Bath and Table |

My gorgeous bathroom tin sign that hangs on the bathroom door. |
Now did you see that little white basket on my chest of draws?
This is it...
Its a basket I keep in my bedroom so I don't have to go to Ben's room during the night.
It contains
- Nappy's
-Nappy wipes
- Bottle of water (breast feeding)
- Extra singlet just in-case of an accident
- Infacol
-Dummy's
- Hand Sanitiser
Its a great idea if you have a newborn. During the day I use his bedroom and change table which has everything there too...and all the extras you collect :)
Everything cost me less that $200!!
Love it...perfect for us this year!!
What do you think?
