Nativity.

After the devastating event that occurred about 3 years ago... Boyd accidently throwing out the most beautiful Nativity scene you have ever seen...and me crying over the fact it was gone and never coming back... I decided that this year I was going to buy a new one...not that any will ever be as good as what we had...
I've been looking everywhere... but when going through Kmart on Tuesday doing the last bits of Christmas shopping I came across the 'little people' nativity scene... and it dawned on me that this is perfect for our family now! Its perfect for kids to touch and play with and perfect to teach Luke about the real Christmas story!
It was only $39 and is already a hit in our home!!

You press the angel sitting on top and the star just below her shines and she sings silent night!
Last night we spoke to Tash on Skype and Luke had to show her baby Jesus!! How gorgeous!!

So Luke has been learning that Christmas is all about baby Jesus being born... and the three wise men bring the baby Jesus presents...

We have also gotten out the Christmas books... its really funny though because most pictures in these books show Mary sitting on a donkey and obviously she has a big pregnant tummy as she goes to Bethlehem... No matter how much I tell Luke that its Mary and Joseph...He points at Mary and says 'Mummy', Joseph and says 'Daddy' and at the tummy and says 'baby'... how can I argue when im sitting right there with a massive tummy and telling him baby is inside! haha... But no, Im defiantly not the virgin Mary! haha... oh the joys of teaching a two year old! So innocent :)

Don't forget the real meaning of Christmas this year...Its all about CHRIST! What a perfect way to teach our kids about Christmas!... Go get your family a nativity scene and put it next to your tree so you don't forget! What a great investment for only $39!! Make it special and only bring it out at Christmas time...if you cant afford that, maybe its time to get your craft on and make one out of things around your home!! Be creative!!
Wrap up a doll and make a cardboard manger...or a tissue box stable with toilet roll people!!
Merry Christmas Everyone!! xo
