Christmas Bunting

Christmas is on its way!!! WOOHOO!!! I LOVE Christmas!!! And this year I'm finally making some decorations for around home. I have always wanted to but it seems to creep up on us so fast that I never have time... however not this year!! I am on to it!!
I cant say I'm a fan in tinsel ... I actually hate the stuff!! ... But to string something up around the living area I have chosen BUNTING... very 'IN' this season...and very CUTE!

Wanna make it too?? Its very EASY!

First cut out a template for sizing and shape... I have chosen a basic medium sized triangle.... you could do half circles or stars or Christmas tree shapes!

Then cut out your material... I have chosen to do a reversible bunting as you can see both sides (I will hang it in front of our window)

I have picked a vintage Christmas fabric for one side of the bunting and a traditional red and green for the other.

Fabric cut out and ready for sewing!

Now lay the right sides of the fabric together ...and sew the two longer sides together (leaving the shortest side of the triangle open ...and then turn inside out so its the right side out! Probably best to give them a good iron now!

Here are mine, sewn together, reversed and ironed!

Now pin onto binding (or you could just use I thick piece of ribbon and fold over) so raw edges are inside the binding or ribbon... and sew together!!

There you have it!! EASY hey!?
As you can see below I have a vintage bunting one side...and

... traditional Christmas colour bunting the other side!

Cant wait to hang it on our window!!
Is it too early to start decorating next week?? I'm contemplating putting up the tree  next week!!!

Happy sewing!
