So Luke is back on the potty! Hallelujah!
We went through a period where I thought he had it...he wanted to go and sit on the toilet all the time...even doing poo's and wee's on the toilet.... Then all of a sudden it was over. It was like he went the other way and was scared of sitting on the toilet.... it really baffled me...
Boyd was really persistent in trying to get him back on the toilet but after a few crying episodes, I thought if we pushed the issue, it may never happen...
In the last two days, he has decided to sit on the potty!! YAY!!!...To my disgust the potty has been living in front on the TV (really not that attractive to visitors) for those quick 'potty time' feelings Luke is getting!
Toilet training is one of those issues that everyone has a different opinion on... but I also think the child has a lot to do with it too... I've listened to mums who decide its time to toilet train and its taken months of accidents and tantrums for the child to get it...and then others...one week and its all over, knickers or jocks day and night! I think im going to go for the 'when the child is ready' theory and let Luke tell me when he wants to wear jocks and do wee's and poo's on the toilet. To be honest, I never wanted 2 babies in nappies... but it time to realize I have no control over these things....
and I think you mums out there who have struggled to get their child toilet trained... don't take it all too seriously, its not a reflection on you! Just relax... Well im gonna relax about it anyway!
My friend, who has 3 children said all her kids were totally different with how they toilet trained... the 1st (a boy) got it straight away, the 2nd (a boy also) she trained and trained and trained until she ended up in tears about the whole thing...she took him to his first day of kindy (they were meant to be toilet trained) and he decided he would be a 'big boy' and went to the toilet!!! haha... No mum telling him what to do...he knew what to do, but just decided it was the right time.... or maybe he just saw all the other kids going to the big toilet and decided he should too... and her third (a girl) took a little training, but got it down pat after a week or two!... Same family...different kids...different ways of toilet training!
So here we are again... Constantly saying and hearing...
"Wanna do wee's on the potty?"
"Luke is it time to do poo's on the potty?"
"Is it potty time?"
Lets just pray we get somewhere this time!!
Any tips from all you mums who have been through this with your kids!?
Love to hear from you!
